Other Master’s-Level MGT Courses

The following courses are also offered by the Management Department. Except as noted, each may be used to fulfill the requirements of any MGT concentration:

  • MGT 804 International Management

    (3 credits)
    Management challenges and roles in a multinational business. Topics include the international environment, strategic planning in global firms, managing people in international organizations, and the future of international management.
  • MGT 805 Special Topics in Management

    (variable credit)
    Advanced topics in management, taught on an occasional basis. Offerings may cover such topics as Teambuilding and Group Performance, Social Responsibility and Ethical Management, or Organization Development. (Note: MBA students may enroll multiple times for a maximum of nine credits, provided that each enrollment is for a different topic.)

  • MGT 832 Negotiation and Conflict

    (3 credits)
    Negotiation and bargaining to manage people and interpersonal relations. Developmental processes, stages, and types of conflict. Conflict management and resolution.
  • MGT 890 Independent Study

    (variable credit)
    Faculty-supervised independent study. Topic arranged by agreement between faculty sponsor and student. (Note: MBA students may enroll multiple times at 1-3 credits per time for a maximum of 9 credits; PhD students may enroll multiple times at 1-3 credits per time for a maximum of 12 credits.)
